I am happy to present a wonderful Birds Of Britain 13 inch oval platter featuring a pair of Wood Ducks with nestlings. This dish is vintage and has no border or rim on the edge.

There is an glazed bottom with ridges for baking in the oven. It is very nice condition with no crazing and a very clean bottom but does have a few minor signs of use. Please be sure to look below to see more photos and a full description.


The Birds Of Britain pattern illustrations were taken from the 'Natural History Of British Birds' by Edward Donovan which was printed in 1794.

Size	About 12-1/2" by 9"
Transfer	Bright and colorful with no fading. There are no flaws except for a very small 1/8" long and very narrow transfer cut on the closest nestling wing. It is hard to see when looking at arm's length and was too small to catch in a photo.
Ground	Very white
Glaze	No crazing and shiny glaze with no flaws
Chips/Cracks	None
Stains	None, except for few small spots of shelf wear on the unglazed bottom rings, especially the outside ring. Very minor.
Use Marks	There are a few minor and hard to see shallow, narrow and short scratches. They are likely from another item stacked on top.
Other Comments	A very nice example of the Birds Of Britain retired and rare Wood Duck pair!

There is a full Birds of Britain Donovan ID mark on the bottom which was used prior to 2000. The bottom is unglazed for use in the oven.
