Bright and colorful with no fading
To the right of the bird's tail there is an area where there are some transfer skips. It can easily be seen in the close up photo above. Harder to see, there is a similar pin head sized skip under the bird's leg. THE FLAW IS TOTALLY UNDER THE GLAZE so is fully food safe.

Ground |
Very white on the glazed areas. The unglazed bottom is off white from oxidation over the years. Please see the photo of the bottom below.
There is a very tiny speck if sand, to small to catch in a photo, embedded in the glaze just under the bird motif. These little specks are very common on the older Portmeirion.

No crazing with very shiny glaze. The bottom is unglazed for use in the oven.
