BOTANIC GARDEN SQUARE TRIVET AND CHEESE KNIFE SET
Treasure Flower Cork Backed Ceramic Tile And Cheese Knife - Boxed!

I am pleased to present a Botanic Garden cheese serving set consisting of a 6 inch square Treasure Flower or Gazania Ringens cork backed ceramic tile and a stainless steel cheese knife. The Rhododendron knife is early and has a ceramic handle. Newer knifes have a plastic handle. The older ceramic items with curved handles are much nicer.

The tile and knife are in excellent condition with no flaws, signs of use, or wear. The box does show a little wear.

Please be sure to see below for lots more photos and complete description.

Portmeirion Botanic Garden Cheese Set

The Treasure Flower motif was introduced on salad plates in 1985 and believe it was recently retired in 2004. The design was inspired by an image in an 1824 botany book,The Universal Herbal by Thomas Green.

The knife has a oval Portmeirion Logo (used in early 2000's) impressed in the stainless steel which says:

Stainless Steel
Made In England

As is usual on trivets, there is no ID mark. Please click the link to the right if you would like to learn more about other Botanic Garden backstamps.
