I am pleased to offer a Portmeirion Birds Of Britain 13 by 8 inch oval platter featuring the Pheasant or Phasianus Colchicus bird. While the official name of the item is a 'platter', to me, it is also could be used as a shallow bowl because it is deeper, with slanting sides, than the usual oval platter shape. This item was made only for a short time before the Birds Of Britain series was retired.

The platter is in new condition with the UPC code still attached on the bottom. It is mint with no flaws or signs of use.


The Birds Of Britain pattern illustrations were taken from the 'Natural History Of British Birds' by Edward Donovan which was printed in 1794.

It carries an Acorn border which was the most recent Birds Of Britain edge decoration.

Size	13" by 7-3/4" across the top, and 1-1/2" high, and 8-1/4" by 4-1/4" across the bottom foot
Transfer	The bird motif has nice bright colors with no fading or flaws
Ground	Very white
Glaze	Nice shiny glaze overall with no flaws seen. The bottom is fully glazed so is not a baking dish.

Other Comments	A unique Birds Of Britain platter in new condition!

The bottom is fully glazed so should be used for serving only and not baking except in a very cool oven. The ID mark is a modern Portmeirion Logo that says 'Made In Britain'.
