I am happy to present a set of six boxed cork backed placemats in the Splat Cat design from the Rob Scotton Portmeirion Studio collection. In a Christmas theme, the 12 x 9 inch set features two each of three different designs. This is the Deluxe set which is very heavy and thick compared to the normal placemat. The set is in excellent condition with no sign of use or wear on any of the placemats. The box is basically sturdy but has a few minor scrapes on the top and a remnant of a sticker.

The Splat Cat collection was discontinued in early 2007. I could not find anything on the box or placemats to indicate where they were made and would assume they were manufactured in China. I do not see any difference in quality between the older Portmeirion sets made in the UK or New Zealand. They are of nice quality. Please see lots of photos and full description below.

The back of the box reads:

PLACEMATS
Coated with a hard wearing finish. Resistant to normal household stains and withstands temperatures up to the boiling point of water. Not suitable for use as chopping boards. Clean with a damp sponge and dry with a soft cloth. Do not immerse in water or put in a dishwasher.

Other Comments	The box is in nice sturdy condition with a few shallow marks on the top and separated at the on three edge corners. Nothing major. THE PHOTO OF THE BOX BELOW IS FROM ANOTHER SET. A nice Christmas item for the Cat lover!

There is no ID mark or sticker on the cork back. I could not find anything on the box or placemats to indicate where they were made and would assume they were made in China.
