I am happy to present a rare retired Birds Of Britain 15 inch oval platter featuring a Mute Swan with nestlings. This dish has no border around the edges and was made early in the range. Early platters had a green band or no band while later platters had an acorn band.

This dish has an glazed bottom with ridges for baking in the oven. It is in near mint condition with few, if any, signs of use. They do not get much better than this one. Please do be sure to see the full description below...


The Birds Of Britain pattern illustrations were taken from the 'Natural History Of British Birds' by Edward Donovan which was printed in 1794.

Size	About 15" by 11"
Transfer	Bright and colorful with no fading or transfer flaws
Ground	Very white
Glaze	No crazing and excellent shiny glaze
Chips/Cracks	None
Stains	None, even the unglazed bottom is quite clean
Use Marks	There are a few short, shallow, narrow and hard to see marks in the white area. Probably some from another dish rubbing on top. Very minor and almost microscopic.
Other Comments	A wonderful example of the Birds Of Britain retired and rare Mute Swan!

The ID mark is a full Donovan 1794 Bird's Of Britain ID.
