BOTANIC GARDEN CROCUS And SNOWDROP ROUND TRIVET
Original Version Of Flower - Felt Backed, Mint!
|
I am pleased to present a Botanic Garden 6 inch wide round Crocus and Snowdrop or Crocus and Galanthus ceramic
trivet. The felt backed trivets, made in the UK, have been retired. This
item carries the 'light' version of the motif (with a white butterfly wing).
It is in perfect condition, with an exceptional transfer.
The Crocus and Snowdrop
was a bread and butter plate motif, introduced in 1980 and
retired in 2000. There are two color versions of this motif where the
biggest difference is in the pink butterfly wing. The lower wing is grey in
the 'Dark' version and white in the 'Light Version' Also, the darker has
more pronounced and deeper accents at the edges of the flowers and leaves.
It was inspired by image in a 1830 botany book,Romance
of Flowers. by Louisa Twomley.

The dark green felt back is in excellent condition with no rips or tears or signs of use.
An excellent Botanic Garden round ceramic trivet!

There are no ID marks present but is definitely a Portmeirion transfer likely on a HR Johnson
round tile. The photo was taken at an angle so you can see the white tile edge on the right.
