PORTMEIRION POMONA 9 INCH GRIMWOODS ROYAL GEORGE PEACH SALAD BOWL
Retired And Popular Fruit With Lots Of Retired Fruits Including The Hazel Nut!
|
I am happy to present a vintage and excellent Pomona 9 inch bowl featuring the Grimwoods Peach and six different Pomona fruits, including a Hazel Nut, around the inside edge. In addition, the
outside also has two sets each of the rare Wilmots Early Red and Queen of Sheba Gooseberries.
The bowl is in excellent condition with few, if any, signs of use. It is about as nice as can be. Please
see a full description and photos of the colorful fruits below.
The center fruit, Grimwoods Peach, is and original fruit and is still in production.

The inside edge features six fruit motifs, all retired, including the very rare Hazel Nut and Wilmot's Early Red Gooseberry, Pippin Apple, L'Imperatrice Plum with original black accents, and Biggerraux Cherry.

The bottom carries the original brown ID mark used from 1982 until 1985. You can get a good idea of the placement of the Gooseberry motifs in this photo.

This bowl is especially nice because it has two sets each of the very long ago
discontinued Gooseberry fruits around the outside. It is unusual to find the Gooseberries on all but the oldest Pomona salad bowls.

A very nice rare Pomona bowl with lots of retired fruits, including the Hazel Nut, in great condition!

The bowl carries a brown color round Pomona Goddess Of Fruit ID mark. This ornate
backstamp has been replaced by a generic (same general design used on most
Portmeirion patterns) ID.
