PORTMEIRION VINTAGE 'WHAT SHALL I DRINK' GIN BOTTLE
Interesting 1960s Bottle With Temperance Theme - Excellent Condition!
|
I am happy to present an unusual 9 inch high
Portmeirion Temperance Defender 'What Shall I Drink' gin bottle made in the 1960's.
It is
in remarkable condition with no signs of use or flaws and NO CRAZING as seen on almost all vintage
Portmeirion of this age. Please be sure to look below for close up photos of the design and a full description.
The transfer was dark and difficult to get a good clear image of the design.
A complex image with lots of detail, shows TEMPERANCE
at the top and DEFENDER at the bottom. Between, there are two half naked ladies holding a ribbon
banner that says DOWN WITH LIQUOR TRAFFIC. In the center there is a triangle that says LOVE, PURITY, FIDELITY.
---> Close Up Of Design <---
Part of the 'What Shall I Drink' series, this bottle's theme is Temperance. I do not of any further
inspiration for the design or series.

Other Comments |
The black stopper with cork is in great condition and fits securely in the bottle. It does not have any
chips or flaws on either ceramic or cork.
A rare and hard to find vintage Portmeirion 'What Shall I Drink' gin bottle in super condition!
|
The jar has a typical oval Portmeirion ID mark on the bottom. There is a pattern name present, but is
barely readable. Like the transfer on the bottle, the ID mark was dark and very difficult to get a clear photo.
