BOTANIC GARDEN PURPLE IRIS PIN DISH
Original Oatmeal Flower - Retired Many Years Ago - Very Clean And Nice!
|
I am pleased to offer a retired Purple Iris pin dish. This motif and three
other oatmeal bowl unnamed flowers were retired very early in 1978. The
dish is in excellent condition with a nice bright purple flower.
This dish has overall VERY clean crazing but has excellent glaze, bright transfer and no signs of use! Please
be sure to look below for more details.
The Purple Iris was one of the four original oatmeal motifs,
introduced in 1972 and retired early in 1978, that did not have a Latin name
printed next to the common name. The other three unnamed oatmeal motifs were
retired in the same year. The design was inspired by an image in the 1840
botany book La Flore des Dames by A. Jacquemart.
