I am pleased to present a retired 11 by 8.25 inch melamine chopping board featuring the Red Currant motif on the face. The reverse emulates a wood surface. These chopping boards, made in England, have not been made in many years and are becoming difficult to find in nice condition. Older chopping boards like this one are very fragile. This item has only some very hard to see signs of use and is in overall excellent condition.


It is almost 11" by 8.25", about 1/8" thick, and 1/4" high. It appears to be made from pressboard with a melamine transfer on the front and an emulated wood transfer on the back.

The front face, featuring the retired Red Currant, there are no chips or cracks or scratches.

The woodgrain pattern back sits of four little white 'feet' and has no scratches or chipped edges. There is a partial Portmeirion sticker still attached.

I could not read the entire care sticker on the back. However, other similar Portmeirion items like this say:

To preserve the decorative design it is
suggested that the woodgrain reverse is used
for chopping. Do not immerse in water.
Clean with a damp cloth. Will withstand temperatures to 150C.
