RETIRED CERAMIC LIDDED CANISTER - CYCLAMEN And HEARTSEASE
Rare 4 Inch Wide Botanic Garden Canister - Excellent Condition!

I am happy to offer a rare smaller sized almost 4 inch wide Botanic Garden canister that is topped with a ceramic lid rather than the more usual wooden lid. It is in excellent clean condition without damage, few signs of use, if any, and No crazing!

The lid features a Cyclamen motif on the lid and the bottom carries the Heartsease or Viola Tricolor. It is hard to find a ceramic lidded canister in such nice condition!

Ceramic lids were produced in about 1980 for a limited amount of time. They have not been produced for at least 20 years and now difficult to come by.

The Ivy Leaved Cyclamen flower was an original oatmeal bowl motif, introduced in 1972, moved to a B & B plate in 1985, and still remains in production today. There are two different insect and flower versions. The oldest has four flower heads and the newer has nine heads. It was based on an image in an 1840 book,La Flore des Dames by A. Jacquemart. This jar has the older design with 4 flower heads.
