Unusual Two BG Flowers On One Retired Vase Shape - New Condition!
|
I am pleased to offer an excellent Portmeirion Botanic Garden Tuscany almost 7 inch high vase
featuring a Trailing Bindweed or Convolvulus transfer on one side and the Ivy Leaved Cyclamen or Cyclamen Repandum
on the other.
It us unusual to see two different Botanic Garden flowers on one vase. The vase is in new condition with
no signs of use and still has the UPC code attached to the bottom!

The Trailing Bindweed motif is an original flower on bread and butter plates
and was retired in 2004. There are two versions of Trailing Bindweed.
In 1994, insects were rearranged. It was inspired by image in an 1824
book,The Universal Herbal by Thomas Green.
The Ivy Leaved Cyclamen flower was an original oatmeal bowl motif, introduced in 1972,
moved to a B & B plate in 1985, and still remains in production today. There
are two different insect and flower versions. The oldest has four flower
heads and the newer has nine heads. It was based on an image in an 1840
book,La Flore des Dames by A. Jacquemart.
