BOTANIC GARDEN CERAMIC LIDDED CANISTER WITH RARE DOME SHAPE LID
Unusual Daisy Dome Shape Lid And Heartsease Base - Great Condition!
|
I am happy to offer a rare Botanic Garden ceramic lidded canister topped with a
dome shape ceramic lid rather than the more usual wooden lid. Ceramic lids were produced
in about 1980 for a limited amount of time. While any ceramic lidded canisters
are hard to find, the dome shape is especially rare and not often seen.
The lid is the Daisy and bottom is in the Heartsease coffee cup flower with several
interesting butterflies! This canister is in excellent condition with no crazing or wear!
The Daisy was an original 1972 flower on bread and butter plates and still
remains in production today. It is based on an image found in the 1835 botany
book with illustrations by William Clarke,Moral of Flowers, and
written by Mrs. Hey.

Use Marks |
Because the canister has been around for about 20 years, it likely has
been used. But looks like it was made yesterday with no scratches or other signs of use.
|
Other Comments |
The lid gasket is new and so the lid holds a very tight seal. Maybe too
tight and takes a little effort to remove the lid. The new seal will
shrink over time and get easier to remove.
