BOTANIC GARDEN LARGE 8 INCH AFRICAN DAISY CANISTER
Old Retired Dinner Plate Motif With Bright Colors!
|
I am pleased to offer a Botanic Garden 8 inch canister with the retired
African Daisy or Arctotis grandiflora motif. The African Daisy was introduced in 1972 on dinner plates and
retired in 1990.
This jar is in great condition with no crazing and very bright orange color. There is a factory flaw (fully glazed over) on the left side flower so
please be sure to see the full description and close up photos below.
The African Daisy was an original dinner plate motif produced from 1972
until retired in 1990. It was inspired by image in a 1824 book,The
Universal Herbal by Thomas Green.

Other Comments |
There is only one dry streak on the lid's varnish. And, as came from the factory,
the bottom side of the lid was not finished with the same color as the top. Otherwise, there is no wear
on the lid as is so common on wooden Portmeirion canister lids.
The gasket still holds a nice tight seal.
A useful and very nice retired African Daisy canister with exceptionally bright orange color.

The bottom is marked with a relatively large Crest ID backstamp.
