BOTANIC GARDEN CYCLAMEN VARIATION DINNER PLATE
Unusual Plate With Rare Backstamp - Made For The Italian Market!
|
I am pleased to offer a very unusual 10 inch Botanic Garden Cyclamen or
Cyclamen Repandum motif dinner plate. Cyclamen is usually only seen on smaller B and B plates. This
plate was made for the Italian market, I believe, several years ago and is not to be confused with the Botanic
Garden Variations range that always has sprigs of Forget-Me-Not and Rhododendron on the edge.
I have another Cyclamen dinner plate available. I do not see any difference whatsoever in the motif.
It is in like new condition! Please see the description below and photo of its special ID mark.
The Cyclamen flower was an original oatmeal bowl motif, introduced in 1972,
moved to a B & B plate in 1985, and still remains in production today. There
are two different insect and flower versions. The oldest has four flower
heads and the newer has nine heads. It was based on an image in an 1840
book,La Flore des Dames by A. Jacquemart.
