BOTANIC GARDEN GARDEN TREASURE FLOWER DINNER PLATE
One Of A Kind Dinner Plate - Borderless Edge - Excellent Condition!
|
I am pleased to offer a unique one of a kind Botanic Garden dinner plate in the Garden
Treasure Flower or Gazania Ringens motif. The Treasure Flower is a salad plate flower and this plate is minus the usual green laurel border. It was made within
the last several years and has a 1st Quality green ID mark.
This plate is in mint condition with no signs of use or wear. It must have been produced
in very small quantities as I have seen very few Botanic Garden plates without a green laurel border.
The Treasure Flower motif was introduced on salad plates in 1985 and believe
it was recently retired in 2004. The design was inspired by an image in an
1824 botany book,The Universal Herbal
by Thomas Green.
