BOTANIC GARDEN GARDEN MEADOW SAFFRON DINNER PLATE
Unique Dinner Plate With Retired Saffron B and B Motif - Great Condition!
|
I am pleased to offer a unique one of a kind Botanic Garden dinner plate in the Garden Meadow Saffron or Colchicum motif.
The Saffron is a retired bread and butter plate flower. The dish carries a green factory 2nds ID mark because this
motif was never offered on a dinner size plate and is a 'special decoration' item. It was produced for sale exclusively in Portmeirion's factory store in the UK.
This plate is in excellent condition with few, if any, signs of use or wear. Please see the detailed description below.
The Meadow Saffron was an original 1972 bread and butter plate motif and
retired in 1995. It was inspired by image in a 1824 book,The Universal
Herbal by Thomas Green.

This plate has an oval or seconds ID mark. The oval ID mark is often used for
items not in the product catalog, sales samples, or special decoration.
The Saffron was never used on dinner plates especially with no Laurel border and is a unique special decoration.
