I am happy to present a very interesting medium 6 inch wide Sailing Ships Potty produced by Portmeirion sometime prior to 1978. Sailing Ships was one of the few old Gray's pottery patterns that continued to be used after Gray's was incorporated into Portmeirion Pottery.

This Portmeirion potty is in excellent condition with overall VERY CLEAN crazing to be expected on a piece of this age. The transfers are crisp and glaze is still shiny.

Size	6" across the top, not including the handle, 3-1/2" across the bottom foot, and 3-1/2" high
Transfer	All are sharp and clear with no flaws seen
Ground	Very white There are two little factory 'glops' of pottery. One is on the handle and another near the bottom foot (see the photo of the bottom below at about 5:30 o'clock). Both are very small and common on older Portmeirion. Mentioned just to make a complete description.
Glaze	Overall clean crazing noticeable on close inspection. The crazing is very clean with no stains.
Chips/Cracks	None
Stains	None except for a tiny bit of shelf wear on the unglazed bottom foot. I cleaned the potty after the photos were taken and the shelf wear seen in the photo below is much less than in the image.
Use Marks	It probably was used for something, but is very clean and doesn't show any sign of use.
Other Comments	An excellent early Sailing Ships Portmeirion collectible!

The photo below shows much more shelf wear than is actually on the pot. I washed it after the photos were taken.
