I am pleased to present a retired Pomona red acrylic tablemat featuring the Red Currant motif on the face. These large tablemats have not been made for several years and are especially unique because of the red background color. This item is basically in very nice condition, but has a small flaw on the edge, so please be sure to see the detailed description below. It still has the 'Made In England' Portmeirion goldtone sticker attached to the back.

In person, the background red is more like a brick red. On my monitor the red is brighter than the actual color. The background might look a little uneven due to some uneven photo lighting, but is is a consistent color overall.


The Red Currant fruit has been retired for at least several years and is a very popular Pomona motif.

It is about 15-3/4" by 11-3/4" and is about 1/4" thick. It appears to be made from a pressboard base with a acrylic transfer on the front and a layer of cork on the back.


On the upper left edge there is a small area where the red is disturbed and has flaked off a some. Otherwise, it is in overall super condition with no other flaws!



Here are cleaning instructions I found on some literature from the time it was made:

Coated with an acrylic finish. Will withstand temperatures to the boiling point of water. Resistant to normal household stains, Clean with a damp sponge and dry with a soft cloth. Not suitable as cutting boards. Do not immerse in water.

The color of the cork is a consistent color over all. The darker color on the right is from uneven photo lighting.
