I am pleased to present a retired Pomona red acrylic tablemat featuring the Hoary Morning Apple motif on the face. These large tablemats have not been made for several years and are especially unique because of the red background color. Except for a sliver of red missing from the edge (please see the complete description below), this item looks unused and still has the 'Made In England' Portmeirion goldtone sticker attached to the back.

In person, the background red is more like a brick red. On my monitor the red is brighter than the actual color. The background might look a little uneven due to some uneven photo lighting, but is is a consistent color overall.


It is about 15-3/4" by 11-3/4" and is about 1/4" thick. It appears to be made from a pressboard base with a acrylic transfer on the front and a layer of cork on the back.


There is a little slim sliver, about 1/2" wide, of missing red material on the lower left edge. Otherwise, there are no other flaws seen. Please see the photo below.



Here are cleaning instructions I found on some literature from the time it was made:

Coated with an acrylic finish. Will withstand temperatures to the boiling point of water. Resistant to normal household stains, Clean with a damp sponge and dry with a soft cloth. Not suitable as cutting boards. Do not immerse in water.

The color of the cork is a consistent color over all. The darker color on the right is from uneven photo lighting.
