I am happy to present an vintage Botanic Garden rectangle shape tablemat featuring the
Mexican Lily or Amaryllis Reginae motif. This placemat has a
shiny surface (melamine?) and a cork back. The flowers motifs have different
insects arrangements on each side.
This tablemat has a Botanic Garden Variations style border that shows a
alternating Forget-Me-Not and Rhododendron. The flower structure is
different on each side also, similar to the rare Double Mexican Lily
pattern of the 15" platter.
The Mexican Lily flower was an
original dinner plate motif, introduced in 1972 and retired in 1994. It was
inspired by image in a 1824 book,The Universal Herbal by Thomas
Green.

PORTMEIRION PLACEMATS
Coated with a hard wearing Finish. Resistant to normal household stains and
withstands temperatures up to the boiling point of water. Not suitable for
use as chopping boards. Clean with a damp sponge and dry with a soft cloth.
Do not immerse in water, or put in dish washing machines.
