I am pleased to offer an almost 5-1/2 inch high Portmeirion Pomona Wilmot's Early Red Gooseberry Canton vase. The Wilmot's Early Red motif was retired years ago and is now difficult to find.

There are two cracks near the bottom edge. Please see the photo in the Condition Table below. Normally, I would not sell something with a crack like this but the Early Red is just to rare!

The Wilmot's Early Red Gooseberry is repeated on the front and back.

Size	5-1/2" high, 2-1/2" top opening, 2-1/2" bottom foot
Transfer	Repeated front and back, both transfers are bright and colorful with no flaws or damage
Ground	Very white
Glaze	Perfect, shiny with no flaws or crazing
Chips/Cracks	On the base there is an odd crack that looks like it may have happened at the factory. The top of the area seems that is never broke off and has not been glued back on. It seems to be stable and should not fall off.
Stains	None
Use Marks	None anywhere except a tiny bit of shelf wear on the unglazed bottom foot.
Other Comments	A nice retired Pomona vase featuring the hard to find Wilmot's Early Red Gooseberry!

The bottom of the vase has a brownish round Pomona Goddess Of Fruit ID mark. Brown backstamps were used prior to 1985. It looks more brown in person than it does in my monitor.

This ornate backstamp has been replaced by a generic ID where the same general design used on most Portmeirion patterns.
