BOTANIC GARDEN COLLECTOR CLUB DAISY THIMBLE
Unique BG Item - Mint And Rare!
|
I am happy to present a nice Botanic Garden thimble showing a
Daisy or Bellis Perennis flower buds as well as a
butterfly and a flying ladybug.
Some thimble sets came with a gold ring around the
lower edge and some did not. This Cotton Flower thimble is from the more
unusual set that does not have a gold ring.
It is in perfect condition!
In 1986 Portmeirion issued a set of 13 thimbles for The Thimble
Collectors club. This is one of the thimble motifs offered as a part of this
set and is very rare.

---> Decoration On Side And Back <---
The Daisy was an original 1972 flower on bread and butter plates and still
remains in production today. It is based on an image found in the 1835 botany
book with illustrations by William Clarke,Moral of Flowers, and
written by Mrs. Hey.
