BOTANIC GARDEN 8 INCH CITRON Or CITRUS PORRINGER BOWL
Retired Motif, Rare And Very Unique BG Bowl Shape!
|
I am pleased to offer an unusual Citron or Citrus porringer bowl with straight sides.
This shape was manufactured in the very early days of Botanic
Garden and is quite unusual. Not many of these bowls are seen and must have
had a limited production life.
It is in excellent condition with no signs of use, scratches or wear.
However, it does have overall very clean and hard to see crazing. Crazing on
the very early pieces is almost certain to be found.
I believe this porringer bowl shape was only made with the Citron motif and was only
made in the very early years, around 1972 or 1973, of Botanic Garden.
---> Close Up <---
The Citron motif was discontinued long ago and has
not been produced in many years. It was an original bread and butter plate
motif, introduced in 1972 and retired in 1980. It was inspired by image in a
1824 book,The Universal Herbal by Thomas Green.
