PORTMEIRION WELSH DRESSER 5.5 INCH CANTON VASE
Attractive Retired Item - Mint Condition!
|
I am pleased to offer a hard to find and retired Welsh Dresser 5.5
inch high canton shape vase. It has a green oval 2nds ID mark on the
bottom. The only issue I see is that one of the transfers has a few very small and minor flaws. Please be sure to see the photos and description below.
The Welsh Dresser pattern, unfortunately, was retired a few years ago
and is becoming difficult to find.

This pattern, designed by Angharad Menna, emulates old Llanelli Ware.
Produced for 100 years, but unable to compete with other potters, Llanelli
Ware stopped production in the early 1900's. Portmeiron's Welch Dresser is a
continuation of this art.
There are three transfers around the outside, not leaving much white space.

Size |
About 5-1/2" high, 2-1/2" opening, and 2-1/4" at the bottom, and about 3-1/2" wide at the widest point
|
Transfer |
The same transfer is repeated three times and each is colorful and
bright. One transfer has a few small flaws. There is small
smudged area on the pink flower and a white streak on one green leaf. The best I could get them
in a photo is the image at the bottom of this listing.

None, it is very clean both inside and outside. The bottom unglazed ring
where it sits has just the slightest bit of shelf wear.

Beautiful little Welsh Dresser vase! |
As mentioned above, the ID mark is a light green oval 2nds ID, likely due to a small transfer flaw.
