I am happy to offer a retired and very rare Portmeirion Handpainted Studio Kitchen Garden Carrot hand painted mug. It is a very unusual proof or sample item, with hand printed comments on the bottom.

It is in excellent condition and holds about 10 oz. Please see the photos below.


There is a Carrot on both sides of the mug. The Carrot on the reverse side (not shown) is very similar in size and color but more straight up and down. On this mug, the green line painted at the top edge is wider and covers the top edge almost completely. On most Kitchen Garden cups, the green line does not cover the top.

The Kitchen Garden pattern was introduced sometime after 1994 as a one of several hand painted Portmeirion Studio Hand Painted patterns. Unfortunately, most this high quality series was discontinued in 1997.

Transfer	Carrot design is repeated on front and back with both perfect and colorful with no fading or other flaws seen

Glaze	No crazing or other glaze flaws noted

Stains	None, except for a tiny bit of shelf wear on the bottom unglazed ring where it sits.

Other Comments	A nice retired and unique Portmeirion Hand Painted Carrot sample mug!

The bottom is marked only with a 'Pattern Line On Top' comment.
